With its unique, stirring blend of military ceremony, music and entertainment, The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is one of the most popular events in the world.
The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is performing five sensational shows at Etihad Stadium in February 2016:
- Friday 12 February at 7pm
- Saturday 13 February at 1pm and 7pm
- Sunday 14 February at 1pm and 7pm.
This spectacular event will feature over 1,200 performers, including the Massed Pipes and Drums of Scotland’s famous regiments that the event is known for. In Edinburgh this iconic event is held with Edinburgh Castle as the dramatic backdrop. Here in Melbourne a life-size replica of the Castle façade will recreate this stirring sight with performers entering the stadium by crossing the drawbridge just as they do in Edinburgh.
Brigadier David Allfrey, MBE, Producer of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, recently announced the first international band that will march into Etihad Stadium: the world’s most sensational percussionists – the Top Secret Drum Corps from Switzerland.
This outstanding band with its energetic and unpredictable style have been drumming their way into the hearts of International Tattoo spectators for years, making them one of the most sought after groups of their kind.
Top Secret was formed in 1990 by a group of enthusiastic, talented young drummers from the Swiss city of Basel. Their drumming style, which is upbeat and playful and includes drumstick juggling and flag spinning, is derived from the military drumming drills of Swiss soldiers dating back to the Middle Ages.
