What’s On in Melbourne in November

Are you hungry? November is just filled with food and drink events. Find out our top picks for what’s on in Melbourne this November.

Starting from the 1st of November and running to the end of the Month, The Age Good Food Month has over 240 events scattered across Melbourne and Regional Victoria. Prepare for a feast of diverse cultures being served from some of Melbourne’s top restaurants and chefs. One international chef not to miss out on is Diego Munoz from Astrid y Gaston, Lima Peru, which is number 14 on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants. He will have a pop-up bar called The Lady Carolina amongst the 56 other stalls at the ever popular Night Noodle Markets running along the Yarra River at Birrarung Marr.

The Queen Victoria Night Markets are back every Wednesday from the 4th of November from 5pm to 10pm where you can experience over 150 stalls of global street food, bars, fashion, crafts, live entertainment and activities for the kids.

Looking for a festival which is all about Gin? Juniperlooza, on November 28 and 29, will be showcasing some of Australia’s best gin. There will be plenty of gin tastings and you will have the chance to meet the makers, enjoy pop up bars and food stalls with live entertainment. We are particularly looking forward to the Bad Frankie Bar pop up bar who recently won best bar in Victoria. Also make sure you try the gin from Four Pillars who have recently opened a gin distillery and bar in Healesville, this is a gin that you will certainly see more of around the globe very soon. We dare you to try their Breakfast Negroni, we think it will soon be the drink of the summer.

Returning for a sixth year, the Melbourne Music Week (MMW) starts on November 13th through to the 20th of November. Combining 240 artists and 115 events across almost 50 locations across Melbourne, this week will be thriving with music. In keeping with the foodie focus for November, we are looking forward to the MMW dining event involving The Press Club’s executive chef Luke Croston. Discover how textures, smells and your overall perception of food can be altered by music from background ambiance to state of the art surround sound.

The Taste of Melbourne festival is coming to Albert Park from November 12 to 15. Taste started over 10 years ago in London and has now grown to over 22 different cities in the world celebrating the best food each city has to offer. The festival will feature pop up restaurants from some of Melbourne’s most notable food institutions and will feature 3 to 4 signature dishes from their respective restaurant in a ‘taste’ size proportion.

November 11th is Remembrance Day when we pause to remember those who sacrificed their lives during war. The Remembrance Day Service will be held at the Shrine of Remembrance Forecourt where a one minute of silence will be observed at 11am.

This month’s What’s On tips are brought to you by Les Clefs d’Or Concierge Paul Rumpff.
