This autumn, wrap yourself in the timeless elegance of trench coat season with a Burberry-inspired afternoon tea at InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto.
Set against the backdrop of Melbourne’s storied heritage, this High Tea is an immersive experience that celebrates the best of British culture, fashion and gastronomy. Crafted in collaboration with French pastry chef Pierrick Boyer of Rêverie Cafe, this exclusive high tea will be available every Friday to Sunday throughout the month of May and June.
In an exciting addition to this autumnal affair, attendees will have the opportunity to book private styling sessions with Burberry’s stylist in-store on Collins Street where they can try the latest collection.
Priced at $125 per person, the afternoon tea includes a curated selection of teas and a glass of G.H Mumm Champagne. Due to the exclusive nature of this experience, advance reservations are strongly recommended.
Menu
The menu is a celebration of British flavours, carefully curated to reflect the timeless elegance of the iconic brand. Among the highlights are the beetroot and gin-cured salmon roses on cauliflower rice cakes, chilled Pimms shooters and Scotch eggs with Branston pickle on crisp grilled croute.
Traditional finger sandwiches are given a gourmet twist with options like chicken coronation and egg and cress on rye sourdough, while the king crab on blinis topped with salmon roe provides a luxurious treat.
Chef Pierrick Boyer’s pastry selection presents British icons that are notable in Burberry’s latest collection with innovative flair. Guests can indulge in a berry brownie à la rose, a light Mimosa lemon tartlet crémeux while the Foxy tiramisu tartlet reimagines the beloved Italian classic.
It wouldn’t be Afternoon Tea without classic English scones served with clotted cream and freshly made strawberry jam, a timeless dish that perfectly encapsulates the essence of Burberry.
