High Tea Party

2 hour, 4 course degustation

Settle in for an afternoon of sheer indulgence with our 2 hour, degustation-style High Tea experience, a progression of late lunch into afternoon tea.

Enjoy 4 courses including traditional sandwiches, a selection of buttermilk and fruit scones and a choice of main course served to your table on exquisite Noritake China.
As the big finale, you will then be treated to a decadent Rialto Precinct Dessert Trolley, featuring heavenly cakes from the kitchens of renowned local venues such as Vue de Monde, Le Petit Gateau and Merchant.

Hosted in the sun-drenched Alluvial atrium, your intimate dining experience will be accompanied with a delicate deconstructed Champagne Cocktail at $99 per person. Make it a special occasion and choose free flowing, bottomless Perrier-Jouet Champagne for $149 per person.

A Slice of History

Step into the high society world of the Clarke Sisters, Miss Emma and Margaret Clarke.

These ladies would often be found spending lavish afternoons swapping stories over fine china teacups in the Rialto building. Miss Emma Clarke married Patrick McCaughan who commissioned the original Rialto building, which is now known as the west wing of the hotel. After Miss Emma’s untimely passing, the undeterred Patrick went on to marry her sister, Miss Margaret Clarke.

Miss Margaret had a beautiful daughter named Caroline, with whom grew to continue the tradition of hosting decadent High Teas.

4 course high tea degustation

  • To begin

    Be seated to create your own deconstructed Champagne Cocktail. Then begin with rare roast beef finger sandwiches, open face cucumber sandwiches, salmon and cream cheese mini bagels, mini duck liver pate en croute and bay bugs on a mini brioche roll

  • the main

    Be treated to a light main, choose from the lamb chop with truffle mash, pea puree and red wine jus or king oyster mushroom tart with pumpkin pulse

  • to finish

    Settle in and enjoy freshly baked buttermilk scones with strawberry jam and double cream and freshly baked fruit scones with butter.
    This course is accompanied with delicate TWG TEA fine herbal teas

  • Rialto precinct dessert trolley

    The Rialto Precinct Dessert Trolley is our big finale. Features a showcase of decadent desserts and cakes from local partners including a Lemon Tart and Berry Tart by Le Petit Gateau, White Chocolate Cheesecake and Flourless Chocolate Cake (GF) by Merchant Osteria Venice and delicate Vue de Monde lamingtons
